HolidayPax is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) and is all about helping some of the homeless community of Spokane to feel some warmth during the Holidays. We do this by giving them some much needed essentials during a time when everyone needs the emotional warmth of the holidays. We want them to know there are people that care about them and their basic needs, as well as their hearts.
We supply three shelters in Spokane with brand new backpacks filled with needed winter essentials. We distribute these packs to the men at Truth Ministries and the youth at Cup of Cool Water. These backpacks have been modified to fit the individual needs of those at these homeless shelters. The men receive their packs during a Christmas Eve dinner, the ladies on Christmas morning, and the kids at Cup of Cool Water have a Holiday party on the week of Christmas. This is when they are handed their new, filled backpacks. This has become a Holiday tradition for all three shelters.
HolidayPax has grown from a small idea of around 35 bags to a community wide ministry that gives over 160 filled backpacks to the homelss people of Spokane. It is a ministry filled with heart and compassion for those on the street with a need for the warmth of body and spirit during the Holidays.
